Coronavirus Update (COVID-19)

Important information for FDP Exam Candidates: In the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we want to assure you that the safety and well-being of our community is paramount to the FDP Institute. We are continually monitoring this very dynamic situation and will provide up-to-date information below.

FDP Exam Candidates **Action required**:

As we anticipate the opening of the FDP administration session beginning on Monday, March 16, we want to assure you that the safety and well-being of our Candidates is paramount to the FDP Institute. We are closely monitoring this dynamic COVID-19 situation and are in constant contact with our exam administrator, Prometric.
As of the time of this communication, Prometric continues to deliver exams in many areas during the March window, while some sites in highly affected areas have been closed. The situation is constantly evolving with new developments daily. Prometric’s stated policy is that any changes to their exam administration will be aligned with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization and will be communicated to you immediately by them.

***Please review the information below carefully for your options. We understand that each Candidate must assess their own situation and comfort level with whether to move ahead with the exam. ***
Option 1:     Keep your current appointment. We understand you may choose to sit for your exam, as will many of your peers. So, we want to share this additional information about your upcoming exam experience:

  • You may elect to wear a mask for the duration of the exam experience.  The candidate should briefly remove the mask so ID can be visually verified. During this brief removal, the masks should be visually inspected at check-in to look for notes written inside. Test Center Associates should not touch or handle the masks during inspection
  • Candidates choosing to wear masks during testing need to keep the mask on for the duration of testing. If a candidate decides to remove the mask during their exam, they should be made to store it in their locker
  • You may bring hand-sanitizer and hand wipes to the center and store them in a locker during the exam administration to be used during the break.
  • Prometric cleans all workstations, desks, and keyboards in between usage and are supplying centers with guidelines and supplies in accordance with these procedures.

Option 2:    You may elect to defer your exam to the October 26 – November 8, 2020 window. The updated curriculum will be available on May 10th.

Once we have received your response email with your chosen option, we will update our system, ensure cancellation of your appointment with Prometric and confirm the change with you. We will continue to update all our Candidates in the region as the situation evolves.

When Prometric closes your test locations, you will be notified by Prometric and we will connect with you. Since you are unable to sit for your exam, we are offering you a deferral to the next exam window from October 26th – November 8th, 2020.

If you have additional questions or need any clarifications do not hesitate to contact us: info@fdpinstitute.org
