    Anyone can register to take the exam. The FDP Charter is awarded after a Candidate has:

    Most Candidates agree that 200+ hours of study prepares them for the FDP exam. That's a big commitment, so before you start, there are some things you'll want to know. Exam materials include the Study Guide, Required Readings as listed on the curriculum page and the Practice Questions and Sample Exam.

    Preparing
    FDP leadership offers three informational webinars to prepare Candidates for exam day.  The Charter Information Session, Prometric Test Center & ProProctor Remote Testing Review and Candidate Orientation Sessions discuss the curriculum, provide study tips and exam day preparation recommendations. 

    Register for the Exam 
    Make sure you have your current passport or driver's license with you when you register. The name on your government issued identification must be exactly the same as on your exam registration. Once you have registered you can log into your FDP account. CAIA members are eligible for a 20% discount of the registration fee.  Learn more. 

    Reserve Your Exam Seat 
    Through our partnership with Prometric, FDP has over 450 test locations around the globe. The FDP Institute cannot guarantee availability of any test center for any given exam.  Early seat reservation facilitates finding availability on the date/ time that suits you most.   ** seat reservation is on a first come, first serve basis.**

    Prepare for the exam 
    Follow the Candidate Study Guide to ensure you direct your learning to the areas that matter. Carefully review the Candidate Handbook so you are prepared for exam day.

    Submit your online class certificates 

    Upon completion of your online classes, the provider will award you a Certificate of Completion.  Submit your certificate and after verification by FDP staff you will receive a confirmation of receipt.

    Sign Code of Ethics and Provide Professional or Academic References

    Complete this form to meet the requirement for the Code of Ethics and providing two professional or academic references.

    Earn the FDP Charter
    Upon successful completion of the exam, you will be asked to submit the FDP Code of Ethics as well as two professional or academic references (not recommendations). After which you will receive your FDP Charter.
