A brief introduction:  

Hello Everyone! My name is Jagdish.  As someone who started their career in lending and treasury, I now work as a Product Owner and Business Analyst in and around the trading and risk domains, helping business, technology and data science teams build better products and platforms.

Why did I take up the FDP challenge? 

It seemed like the rigorous certification standards would help me differentiate myself in an increasingly crowded field of people with varying degrees of skills and knowledge in financial data and analytics.

As the FDP Charter becomes increasingly well-known in the industry, I expect that it would help enhance my personal brand as someone with strong skills in the financial data and analytics domain.

What's great about FDP: 

The FDP curriculum had the right blend of theory and practical applications to the financial services domain and provided well-rounded exposure to the different use cases where financial data science can be applied.

I believe the FDP designation will help me stand out in an increasingly crowded field of professionals and offer strong evidence of my skill sets.

Belonging to a global community of financial data professionals would allow me opportunities to exchange ideas and learn from the experience of others and expose me to different perspectives to common industry challenges.

My advice for aspiring industry professionals: 

Volunteer for different tasks, the more challenging the better. There is a lot to learn, even from failure. Never lose sight of the soft skills such as communication and empathy, because without those, the hard skills are not half as effective.
